Maggie and Maddy, Pet Portraits | Loxahatchee, FL

Pets don’t have to be challenging.  You just have to build trust with them and have a lot of patience.  In some respects, they’re like young children: short attention spans, excitable, moody.  Still they will warm up to you if you come with the right attitude.

A long-time acquaintance of mine emailed me, asking for some portraits of her two “children”, Maggie and Maddy.  In all, I spent a good hour or so with them, snapping away as they played.  Those are all fun shots, but I thought I’d show the more posed images.  The lighting included both natural and flash, which I bounced off the wall behind me and at some angle.  I included the final B&W alongside the original on the last image just so you can see how I styled it for the print I made for myself.
